Peter Wall Institute of Advanced Studies

In March 2019, Prof. Gasalla visited the Institute of Advanced Studies of the University of British Columbia (Canada) for the second time. She took part of the workshop on scenarios and visions for nature of the United Nations Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES). Invited by PBL Netherlands Environmental Agency and IPBES Models and Scenarios Group, to which she collaborates actively.

 

Institute of Advanced Studies, University of São Paulo

Prof. Mary Gasalla is currently a researcher of the Institute of Advanced Studies (IEA-USP). The theme of her research in IEA-USP is: "The future of marine-dependent societies: climate change, innequalities, and cooperation in complex socioecological systems".
Her research project consitutes the first 6 selected projects of a call that was opened to all the University of Sao Paulo’s professors, to participate of the institute’s Sabbatical Program.

Prof. Mary Gasalla visited the University of British Columbia’s Peter Wall Institute of Advanced Studies (Canada), in December 2014.
Invited by the Nippon Foundation’s Nereus Program, she was speaker in the round-table “Seafood in an uncertain future”, held in the Liu Institute for Global Studies, in Vancouver, organized by researchers of the Peter Wall Institute, Fisheries Centre-UBC, and Graduate School of Public Policies of the University of Tokyo.
